Document Merge - Frozen Prevail

If you experience freezing during the document merge process in Prevail, follow these steps to identify and address potential issues:

1. Minimize Prevail:

  • Use the "Show Desktop" feature in the Windows Taskbar to minimize Prevail.

    • Look for the thin vertical bar at the far right end of the taskbar.

      • Hover your mouse cursor over the vertical bar. Tooltips might appear indicating "Show Desktop."

    • Click once on the vertical bar or the small rectangle to the right of it.

    • All open windows will be minimized, revealing the desktop.

    • You may also use the keyboard shortcut: WINDOWS KEY + D

  • Attempt to open Prevail back up and look for any Word prompts or dialog boxes that may appear.

2. Clear Word Dialog:

  • If you find a Word dialog box, Address any prompts or complete actions required in the Word dialog.

  • Close or clear the dialog box.

3. Retry Document Merge:

  • Return to Prevail and attempt the document merge again.

 

Check Task Manager:

  • If the issue persists, open Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc.

  • Look for any lingering Word processes in the "Processes" or "Details" tab.

  • End any Word processes that may be running in the background.
