Requesting to Cover An Assure Hearing
This area provides an overview and process for requesting to cover a hearing for assure.
NOTE: Currently, Assure requires hearing coverage to be accomplished by an attorney.
Z Special: Hearings that are canceled within 7 days of the hearing. In this instance the firm placing the hearing on the calendar will pay 50% of the hearing fee. Cancellations within 24hrs of hearing requires the firm placing the hearing on the calendar to pay 100% of the hearing fee.
Actions for Hearings
Edit Hearing
After hearing coverage has been requested, it may be necessary to Edit the hearing. To edit, click the actions button next to the hearing entry, then click Edit. (The Hearing Details Screen can also be accessed by clicking the Hearing ID number next to the hearing list)
The following screen pops up:
From the Edit Hearing screen, the following fields can be edited:
Name of Claimant
SSN number
Type of Hearing
Date, time, owner, location, and ALJ for the hearing
Scheduling Notes
Attending Attorney
Retainer Amount
Travel Amount
Firm Source
Make any necessary hearing edits.
Click “Update Hearing” to finalize any hearing edits.
Details
To review the details for the hearing, click the actions drop-down menu next to the hearing entry. Click the “Details” option from the drop down. This action will take you to the Hearing Details screen. Please see the Viewing the Hearing Details section for more information about this screen.
Request a Brief
To request a brief for this hearing, press the Action drop down menu next to the hearing entry, then press the Request Brief option. For more information regarding requesting a brief, please see the Request Hearing Brief section. When the brief has been completed, it can be found under the Hearing Details screen and under the Brief’s tab.
Request an Additional Brief
To request an additional brief for this hearing, press the Action drop down menu next to the hearing entry, then press the Request Additional Brief option. For more information regarding requesting a brief, please see Requesting Briefs section. When the brief has been completed, it can be found under the Hearing Details screen and under the Brief’s tab.
Viewing the Hearing Details
The Hearing Details screen can be accessed in two ways. This screen will outline all the information for each claimant’s hearing and will display all the documents that are needed for the attending attorney.
View the hearing details by clicking the Hearing ID
The first way to view the hearing details screen from the Today tab is to click the hearing ID link next to the claimant’s name.
The second way to access the Hearing Details screen is by using the Actions button to the right of the claimant’s name.
