This How-to covers downloading Prevail updates.

You'll want to always ensure that your Prevail 9 is running the latest update to the program. Otherwise, you may miss out on new features that are constantly being added. This is where the Prevail Control Panel comes into play! You'll also use the Control Panel to maintain your database files.

When a Prevail update is available, you’ll see a message on the Prevail login screen stating, “A Prevail update is available.” You may download Prevail updates from any workstation and the update will apply to all workstations regardless of which PC was used to download the update.

  1. To access the Prevail Control Panel

    1. Go to C:/PREVAIL_CLIENT.

    2. Double-click on ‘Control Panel’

  2. The Prevail Control Panel login screen will appear.

  3. Use your regular Prevail login and password.

  4. Click ONE-TIME on ‘Update’ at the top left corner of the Control Panel.

  5. The download will begin automatically.

  6. When the download is complete, a pop-up window will appear and say your Prevail database is unlocked and allow you to unlock it.

  7. To unlock:

    1. Click to Unlock.

    2. Close the Prevail Control Panel.

    3. Any users logged into Prevail will receive a message stating Prevail has been updated and they need to restart Prevail.
