You'll want to always ensure that your Prevail 9 is running the latest update to the program. Otherwise, you may miss out on new features that are constantly being added. This is where the Prevail Control Panel comes into play! You'll also use the Control Panel to maintain your database files.

When a Prevail update is available, you’ll see a message on the Prevail login screen stating, “A Prevail update is available.” You may download Prevail updates from any workstation and the update will apply to all workstations regardless of which PC was used to download the update.

Instructions

There are two ways to access the Prevail Control Panel:
1. From the Prevail login screen- You will see an icon that says “Control Panel” on the left side of the screen. Click this and use your Prevail login to open the Control Panel.
2. From your Prevail Server Folder: Go to C:/PREVAIL_CLIENT then Double-click on ‘“Control Panel.” Use your Prevail login to open the Control Panel.
Click ONE-TIME on ‘Update’ at the top left corner of the Control Panel.
The download will begin automatically.
When the download is complete, a pop-up window will appear and say your Prevail database is locked and allow you to unlock it.
To unlock:
1. Click to Unlock.
2. Close the Prevail Control Panel.
3. Any users logged into Prevail will receive a message stating Prevail has been updated and they need to restart Prevail.
