This article covers attaching outgoing emails in two different ways in Prevail.

The email tool in Prevail is an add-in to Microsoft Outlook. This feature allows you to easily attach any outgoing or incoming email to the History of any matter in Prevail.

Note: The email integration works only with a full desktop installation of 32-bit Outlook. Web-based and click-to-run versions of Outlook are not compatible.

Instructions

  1. Open or select the desired email.

    1. The Prevail email add-in will appear on the right.

    2. The Subject line of the email will replicate the Subject line of the Prevail email panel. If you want to change the Subject line, do so here or in the matter after the email is attached.

    3. Select a category from the category drop-down menu. This will be added to the entry you are creating in Prevail.

    4. To attach the email to the matter you currently have open in Prevail:

    5. Click 'Attach to Selected Matter: Note the confirmation in the lower right corner.

    6. To attach the email to a different matter, search for the correct matter by entering the first few letters of your client's first or last name in the Search field.

    7. Click on the desired matter.

    8. Click 'Attach to Selected Matter"

      Note: Any files attached to the incoming email will be included in the History entry made in Prevail
