Prevail 10 E-Training*: Claims/Process Tab

The claims/process tab allows you to track work flows and general process items within a matter.

Note: Prevail has created a process for Social Security and Veteran’s Administration cases. For other legal verticals, administrators will need to create processes using the Process Builder.

For more information on building processes, see Prevail 10 E-Training*: Process Builder.

Part 1: Adding a Process to the Claims/Process Tab

  1. Click ‘Add’ on the left side of the screen.

    1. A new Process window will appear

  2. In the Subject field, enter a description of the claim

  3. Choose the appropriate Process from the drop-down list.

  4. Click ‘Save’

    1. The new claim will now appear in the list of claims on the left side of the screen.

Part 2: Standard vs. Auto Fill Processes

When adding a process, note that there may be two different process types. Your administrators will determine the type of process in creation.

  • Standard Process: Steps in this process are triggered by the user, not a specific date or event.

    • Examples of a Standard Process: Social Security and VA Processes pre-loaded into Prevail

  • Auto-Fill Process: Steps are all added at the same time, and have an ‘anchor date.’ This means each step is triggered by the date, rather than other steps or user addition.

    • Example of an Auto-Fill Process: Hearing process

Part 3: Adding Steps to a Standard Process

  1. Click on the appropriate claim from the left side of the screen.

  2. Click ‘Add’.

  3. From the Level drop down-list, choose the appropriate level.

    1. By choosing the appropriate level, your list of choices for the next step will be filtered to include only those steps that belong to the chosen level.

  4. Click on the appropriate step from the list.

  5. Click ‘Next’.

  6. In the next window, edit the date based on what your step represents.

Note for Social Security Disability Firms:

It is extremely important to enter the date printed on the actual notice from the SSA, particularly in the case of a denial notice, since Prevail will automatically calculate your Statute of Limitations (SOL)/filing deadline date based on this entry date. Prevail will schedule statute warning tasks on your task list accordingly.

  1. If the Responsible field is set to an ‘Employee Type’ or ‘Prompt for User’, you must double-click on the task and select one or more users from that list.

  2. Enter any additional notes in the Notes field.

  3. Click ‘Finish’.

Part 4: Completing Steps in an Auto-Fill Process

Since steps are pre-loaded in an auto-fill process, you will complete steps as they are done within the claim.

  1. Click on the step

  2. Click Complete Step

Part 5: Task Grid

The right bottom of the right side of the tab shows any tasks associated to steps within a process. To see tasks associated with a step…

  1. Click on the step in the upper right section

  2. Click view to ‘view’ the task

    1. You may also choose to double click to view the task

  3. Click ‘complete task’ to clear this task from the list
