E-Training: Client Portal - Matter Status
This article will cover the Matter Status portion of the Client Portal.
When the client or prospect logs in to their portal, they will have a section that shows their current matter status. This will automate from the matter status field in the matter tab.
Prevail gives you the option to have two different explanations of matter statuses: One for internal use, (what is on your matter tab) and one for the client to better understand what that matter status means.
Instructions
To set up these matter statuses in your system, Click Administration Databank.
Click 'Matter Status'.
For each Matter Status option, you will see two fields on the right side of the window:
Description: This is the Matter Status as it displays on the Matter tab for your firm in Prevail.
Portal Description. This is the equivalent Matter Status that will display for the client in their Client Portal view. Because the Portal Description field can accommodate up to 100 characters, you can be quite detailed so your client or prospect has a clear understanding of the status of their case.
If the Portal Description field is left blank, the client will see what is displayed in the Description field
After making changes to any of the Portal Descriptions, click 'Save', and restart Prevail for the changes to take effect.
